Choosing the Right Custom T-Shirt from Supplier
Cotton T-Shirts
Cotton is the classic material, valued for its breathability and moisture-absorbing nature, hence making it comfortable all year round. Although it may be easily wrinkled and may require special care when washing, it’s ideal for daily wear, casual events, and situations requiring comfort.
Quick-Dry T-Shirts (Polyester/Microfiber)
Tees made from quick-drying materials like polyester and microfiber are becoming more popular. These synthetic fibres are durable, well-ventilated, and dry quickly, leaving you comfortable even when you are sweating. Widely applied in sports and athletic wear due to its ability to absorb moisture.
Cotton-Polyester Blend T-Shirts
Mixing cotton and polyester will make the best of both materials, providing a balance of comfort, durability, and ease of maintenance. The blend ratio might determine the hand feel of the fabric, with more cotton creating the softer fabric and more polyester for greater moisture-wicking and faster drying. Practical and suitable for daily wear as well as sportswear.
Determining Fabric Thickness
Fabric thickness is expressed in GSM (grams per square meter) or OZ (ounces), and common ranges for cotton t-shirts vary from lightweight (below 160 GSM) to heavyweight (over 200 GSM). Light material is cheap and suitable for hot climates, but perhaps more see-through. Medium-weight material (170-190 GSM) is standard, offering a good compromise of strength and comfort without being heavy or see-through. Thicker fabrics are less transparent and more robust, but could need more attention to avoid wrinkling.

DTF Printing
DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing involves transferring a design printed on film onto fabric using heat. It’s ideal for vibrant, detailed designs and allows for small batch orders without the need for plates or screens. Suitable for custom designs, small batches, and intricate graphics.
Silk Screen Printing
This traditional printing method uses a mesh screen to apply ink to the fabric. It’s versatile, suitable for various materials, and produces bright, long-lasting colours. Silk screen printing is cost-effective for large orders but can become costly for small quantities or designs with multiple colours due to the need for separate screens for each colour. Ideal for simple designs with few colors, often used for promotional items and sportswear.
Embroidery
Embroidery involves stitching designs onto fabric, offering a premium look and feel with high durability. It’s recommended for special custom products, though it’s generally more expensive and less suited for detailed designs than printing. Commonly used for corporate logos, uniforms, and hats.
Sublimation Printing
Involves transferring dye onto fabric using heat, converting the dye into gas without passing through a liquid state. Produces vibrant, permanent designs that don’t fade, crack, or peel. Best for all-over prints on polyester fabrics, used for sportswear and custom designs with complex graphics (In case you need to printing yours by this method, please don’t hesitate to contact customer service).
